How to tell if a SEO Rep is legit: SEO Rep Checklist

I get spammed daily by people pretending to be SEO Experts.

As a website developer I am alarmed at how little these people know yet how arrogant and boastful they can be.

So I created a seo rep checklist for you!

SEO Expert Checklist

#1 Do they have a website?

If their email address is gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc… then they may not be legit.

Free email is a scammers best friend!

Look for an email from a business website like:

#2 Search Google for their website.

Sounds simple but again you would be amazed at how many so called SEO Experts don’t have a website or you can’t even find them on a search engine.

#3 Search for reviews their company.

If they are in marketing then there should be a lot of stuff published with their name on it.

If they are legit they should look at your website for things like:

sitemap.xml: (tells search engine’s the contents of your website)

robots.txt: (tells search engine’s what is public and what is private on your website)
